Although I actually built this model in May last year, I thought I'd better not publish anything before 25th December (as to my knowledge it was going to be Craig E.'s Xmas present). However, the model itself was a fun and interesting build. There is no kit for the Queenair, however the Kingair C90 as it turns out shares a remarkably similar airframe to the Queenair so the starting point was the resin 1/72 RHVP Kingair C90 kit. Modifications included throwing away the turbines and building up new nacelles using milliput and some spare engine nacelles from a resin Croco Aerocommander kit. The propellers came from the spares box. The Aerocommander bits had to be re-profiled but fortunately there was sufficient resin in those nacelles to take considerable filing and shaping. Other changes meant removing the oval cabin windows and replacing with square ones and re-profiling the cockpit side windows. The markings require little explanation...ZK-CIA of Air Chathams Untitled by Harry Follas, on Flickr Untitled by Harry Follas, on Flickr Untitled by Harry Follas, on Flickr Untitled by Harry Follas, on Flickr Untitled by Harry Follas, on Flickr 1I7A9824 by Harry Follas, on Flickr Untitled by Harry Follas, on Flickr

Nice Model of ZK-CIA Harrysone I see a nice model of ZK-CIC as well. I have many hours and many good memories of working on CIA and CIC back in the early days of Air Chats. Andy

It took a fair bit of modification around the engine cowls/nacelles, although other than cabin windows surprisingly little change...not too many airframe differences between -80 Queenair and -90 Kingair bch80-1 by Harry Follas, on Flickr bch90-1 by Harry Follas, on Flickr
