Agreed, looks good. Certainily the best wellington in 1/48 ;-)
Plenty of whinging at Hypescale though. Mind you unless it's from Classic Airframes that seems normal :-)

I don't understand some of the whinging on there. A few years ago everyone would be thankful for the models coming out now. Classic Airframes is not the best manufacturer by a ruddy long chalk either, but they are making the most interesting of topics at least. For quality i prefer Tamiya, but when will they do a Hudson, an Anson, a Canberra, a Wellington, etc.?

Exactly Dave.. In fact I think Trumpter is currently producing the most interesting range of kits, with daylight second...
Yes Classic Airframes kits are nice but they're bloody expensive. And apart from the Hudson and Whirlwind none of their other subjects interest me at all.

That is a trend I've noticed, both on fora and magazines. New highly anticipated, maybe obscure subject is released, everyone raves at first, then people get on the boards and have a moan about this curve not being right, or that intake or this aerial only being present on either a pre production or late series model, not the particular one they wanted to build etc etc...... Maybe expectations are too high...

Yes, there are some very picky and pedantic people out there in aviation world: and to think that some people make fun of trainspotters! You can't please everyone, but thank goodness for companies like Trumpeter and Kiwi Resins getting out there and bringing us something a bit more different and interesting than the 143rd variation on a theme of Hornet/Tomcat/Eagle/Phantom. I haven't made a model kit for years, but I love looking at other people's work, especially on this site. I look forward to seeing some of your efforts once the Wellington is in the shops: a Jimmy Ward's VC Wellington would be great to see - hint, hint! Maybe I should get off my arse.............. ;D

Agreed that Jimmy Ward's would make a great subject.
Also in 75 Sqn there was a series of Wellingtons with the Seven Dwarves as nose art (a Cambridge chap flew in 'Dopey'). There were other Disney nose art Wellingtons too, and a great famous one to do would be 'Thomas Frederick Duck' as he became, though on the Wellington was only 'Thomas Duck' if i recall the story right. That nose art is on display in Wigram Museum and was worn on both Wellington 'T for Tommy' and Lancaster 'F for Freddy' with the same crew in No. 75 Sqn.
Also, there was Popeye, the Wellington flown by Popeye Lucas, and the classic one of a skeleton with a soda syphon spraying bombs. There's potential here for a great decal sheet just for No. 75 Sqn.
It's be nice to see some of the Middle East Wellingtons flown by Kiwis done too.

Gonna have to wait for some aftermarket decal companies to get to work :-)
