The annual Mandeville Fly-In is held over the eighth weekend of the year. On the anniversary of the first cross country flight in New Zealand, between Invercargill and Gore, on 20 February, 1914. See Aircraft in flight or maybe take a flight yourself. Weather permitting, 15 minute flights in the Tiger Moth and the Dominie will be available over the weekend. Prices are $220 in the Tiger Moth and $120 in the Dominie. Will operate on a first in, first serve basis. No Bookings. Also available will be Waimea Plains Railway Steam Train Rides along with Steam Traction Engines. Stalls, displays, Car Displays and more. Gate Fee applies of $5 Adults with car parking beside the airfield.
