Really not good. I am glad they managed to get down and land.

Should I be nervous about getting on a Dreamliner in June? No. If there is an issue then it is clearly caused by a very rare set of conditions. Take care crossing the road, it will improve your safety more than avoiding B787-9s.

Via Stuff 10:01 am So have the crew been interviewed to get their account? First interviews should be done ASAP surely, by all means have a video connection with DGAC to assist.

CVR and FDR are removed and sent to an approved lab for downloading for an investigation. Periodic downloads are done in the field to make sure the boxes are still working as advertised but doing it in a lab is safer. Evaluation of the data however (FDR at least) requires OEM software and a hardware dongle. Mucho $$$ Initial reports of the screens going blank seem to have been a bit far fetched. It now seems likely that a crew member (possibly cabin crew) inadvertently adjusted a crew seat too far forward and this pushed the control column forward. Oopsie.

Boeing have issued an advisory to check for loose rocker switches (under a cover at the top back of B787 seats) that can be activated by leaning on the cover. Slightly earlier story. theaircurrent.com/feed/dispatches/pilot-seat-movement-at-center-of-latam-787-9-dive-investigation/Next question is the CVR length on LATAM B787s. Bet NTSB was yelling at TAIC about making sure the CVR circuit breaker was pulled!
