Since the demise of the Andover there has been a major gap is our transport capability.

At least it can go when the new C-130's will never be able to.

Nice idea but Sherpa is hardly in the same game as HS Andover and has extremely short legs so hardly suitable for the Pacific although wasn't a baby gunship version considered.

Surely not - designed built by the (Northern) Irish. Great aircraft manufacturing lineage like the Sunderland.
