I attended this event, flying in as a back-seat passenger in the Warbirds Beaver CKH. A surprisingly large attendance, both of wheels and of wings. Of course the glorious weather would have helped. While it was mostly a 'fly in and wander around' type of event, there were midday aero displays by the Pits ZK-MPM, Yak ZK-BJK and Vaughn Davis' 'new' Chipmunk ZK-CHP.   There was a fine lineup of Tiger Moths - ZK-CCQ, ATM/2, BLM, ASM, and AUE  The local aero club's Pipistrel Alpha Trainer ZK-JAT was kept busy with joyrides  While my 'find of the day' was the Aeronca 100 ZK-AMW lurking in a hangar. I say this in flight at Masteron back in 2015. I am told that this lovely old aircraft will be airworthy again in the 'near future',  |
