Started the Tamyia Buff. Obviousily going to be a 488 Sqn Machine. I'm going to make this a quick build and hence will completely out of the box. so no aftermarket stuff. Not that it needs it, it's a pretty neat little kit and the 488 Sqn aicraft has a nice dragon on it. Mind you as you can see it's gonna nead some of Sqn's finest green :-) Cockpit detail is nice. I love decals for the intrusments as I suck at painting cockpits. Anyway, heres some progress shots

Cool. I have had that kit on my pile of unbuilt kits for many years. I'm keen to see how well it'll build up.

I've rescribed the rasied lines. The kit has mixture of both.

Looks really good A J. I haven't decided whether to use the pilot figure yet but your's looks excellent. What paints did you use? Minor thing Although Tamyia doesn't say so but according to the link below the Dragon figure was only on the Left. (Anyone know for sure?) www.aircraftresourcecenter.com/Rev1/701-800/Rev788_TamiyaBuffalo_Yeo/rev788.htmMine's progressing slowly. Hopefully will be ready for painting this week. Will post pic's when I have something to show :-)

Thanks for the kind words guys! As for paints Calum, I used Tamiya acrylic and Humbrol Enamal, I honestly don't know the differances between the two paints, I simply dip the brush in and start painting! Like I said, I'm no expert. Looking forward to seeing your Buff when she's done.

I have a friend who has done a lot of reserach on the dragon, and he says it was on BOTH sides of the aircraft. Having said that he has just left for a month long trip to UK and Czech (including stints to CMR and MPM). Will have to ask him when he gets back about his research. Edit: It's a brave man that builds and sands models next to his finished builds...

Craig
Thanks for the advice. I'm supposed to finish it this month so I'll go with Tamyia and your friend and put it on both sides :-) It's a good looking piece of art .
BTW That one wasn't finished :-) at the time, ... close though :-)
