I wonder if this lady is still around. From The Press, 30 September 1965:
Hostess Also Pilot
One Air New Zealand flight hostess has her own commercial pilot’s licence. Margaret Todd holds a current Canadian commercial pilot’s licence, earned during her two and a half years in Vancouver where she spent most of her spare time and week-ends at the Aero Club of British Columbia.
She took up flying “just for fun.” Within a year she had logged almost 300 hours, gained a commercial licence, two cups and the bronze, silver and gold medals of the Royal Canadian Flying Club Association.
The cups were for the woman pilot with the highest marks in examination and the Shell Cup for the most advanced pilot of the year in British Columbia. Once she had her licence, Margaret flew people around the province in Cessnas,
Pipers or a small float plane. Since returning to New Zealand, the only flying she has done has been outside the flight deck—looking after Air New Zealand passengers since March of this year. The transition from commercial pilot to flight hostess has been an easy one, says Margaret, although she hopes to do a little flying at Auckland later this year.
