Welcome to our first newsletter for Marlborough Lines Classic Fighters Omaka 2025. It has been a busy few months with the confirmation of a new naming rights sponsor and a brand-new name. Marlborough Lines has been with us since the first show in 2001, and their continued support means we can make exciting announcements like this!
Three of New Zealand's most significant warbirds are confirmed to appear at Marlborough Lines Classic Fighters Omaka this coming Easter: the Biggin Hill Trust Ohakea's P-51D Mustang, the Avenger, and the Spitfire Mk.IX! It's a great way to kick off a fantastic line-up. So what is reason number four? Early Bird pricing is applicable until 30 September. So book early and save! Keep reading for more info on these fantastic machines.
Biggin Hill P-51D Mustang to Fly at CF 2025!
Considered one of the best fighters of WW2, Brendon Deere's magnificently restored P-51D Mustang, NZ2423 will make its Classic Fighters debut in 2025. We can't wait to see this iconic machine in action in Marlborough next Easter!
Avenger 'Plonky' returns to Omaka Skies!
Last seen at Classic Fighters in 2019, we look forward to welcoming 'Plonky' back to Omaka. Part of the Bigging Hill Trust Ohakea's collection, Plonky is New Zealand's only airworthy Avenger. This machine is an airshow star in New Zealand and has also been displayed in the USA, the UK and Australia.
Supermarine Spitfire MK.IX a tribute to a WW2 Legend
Spitfire MK.IX, PV 270, is no stranger to Omaka skies and will return in 2025. Capable of speeds up to 650km/hr, this machine has been a crowd favourite since its debut at Classic Fighters in 2009. Restored in honour of Alan Deere, a legendary WW2 Spitfire pilot, by nephew Brendon Deere and the Biggin Hill Trust at Ohakea, we can't wait to see her fly at Easter 2025!
