Here's my 1/48 Grumman G-44A Super Widgeon ZK-CFA "Living the Dream" built for owner Grant Harnish It was a really fun build based upon the AZ Model (Classic Airfames?) G-44 Widgeon Kit. The engines are vacformed off a mould built from some basic scaled engineering drawings I have of AVM's cowls. Resin props were provided by Lars Opland (Khee Kha Models). Paint was matched to touch up paint supplied by Grant. 1I7A4492 by Harry Follas, on Flickr 1I7A4457 by Harry Follas, on Flickr 1I7A4493 by Harry Follas, on Flickr 1 by Harry Follas, on Flickr 1I7A4370 by Harry Follas, on Flickr 1I7A4452 by Harry Follas, on Flickr

That is wonderful, just like the real plane.

So what are the powerplants installed at the time of this model configuration? Were they no longer Continental IO-470D?

Still the same engines, however different rear nacelle treatment. Talking to Grant and one or two former Widgeon pilots, thr TEAL conversion was not that great aerodynamically, especially in steeper low speed turns. Apparently 10 degrees of flap had to be selected to prevent buffet! The latest itineration is more inline with the original McDermott conversion which was done in USA with the same engines.
