How is the other one getting to Pima? There was a post from the BC Aviation Museum in the live feed saying Philippine Mars will be disassembled and shipped down because there is no suitable place nearby to land her safely.

There was a post from the BC Aviation Museum in the live feed saying Philippine Mars will be disassembled and shipped down because there is no suitable place nearby to land her safely. No have talked to ex-firebomber pilots on the Mars, as far as they know the serviceable engines and props on the Hawaii are being swapped out for time-ex examples and these are being freighted back to Sproat Lake to be installed on the Philippine Mars for her ferry flight which is expected to take place as early as October. The aircraft will be flown to the nearest body of water which is about 200 miles NW of Tucson Arizona and this is where they will dismantle her and truck her to site. Haven driven the roads to Port Alberni/Sproat Lake from Nanaimo it would also be extremely difficult to cart the aircraft components out by road.
