Hello everyone
Sorry if I am posting in the wrong place I have never used a forum before.
Currently I am a year 13 student, pretty smart I reckon, excellent endorsed type, who wants to be an Air Force pilot, but I have many eeking concerns... would be nice if your learned selves could enlighten me (feel free to answer which ever ones you can)
-Do you think I can get in on minimum fitness (less serious question)
-Do you have a choice in being streamed inbetween rotary and fixed wing? I really do not want to fly helicopters, I really do want to fly airplanes.
-Do all pilot recruits become pilots? Don't really want to be streamed into a non-pilot role after being told otherwise...
-I am Indian (NZ citizen don't worry), is the Air Force an inclusive space? Is there also vegetarian meal plans or kitchens available in training, I do know other vegetarians that have been through but haven't contacted them yet.
-Do the pilots continuously move between NZ cities or what's the life like?
-How can I make myself more appealing?
-Will they choose existing members over me?
-Couldn't find an answer for this, when will they recruit pilots again, I've waited the whole year and haven't seen an opening.
Sorry again if I've made any mistakes, but would love to hear from you all.

Best thing would be talk to the recruiters. www.defencecareers.mil.nz/air-force/careers/As for trying to wing it with minimum fitness, you would disqualify yourself from being a pilot candidate just from lack of commitment and application alone.
