Hi guys, I have started my 1/72 Hasegawa P3 Orion, which I intend to paint in "classic" (White top) RNZAF scheme. As the kit is a P3C it requires some modding to get it to P3K standard. One of the distinctive C model features is a multiple Sonarbouy chute arrangement under the rear fuselage. A collegue I work with is an ex 5 sqn avionics tech and he confirms that RNZAF K models had only a single chute. However exactly where this chute appears is a little vague, and I'm sure there are plenty of other bits and bobs hanging under a P3K that differ from the C (Including the thermal imager etc). The K also is missing the many weapons and sensor pylons under the C model wings - except for the searchlight.
Does anyone have a nice clear photo of a P3 showing the under belly? mid 1980s - 1990s would be preferred, and ideally with the searchlight fitted. It looks like I'll have to scratchbuild the searchlight pod, but that doesnt look too tricky.
