Hi guys, I have started my 1/72 Hasegawa P3 Orion, which I intend to paint in "classic" (White top) RNZAF scheme. As the kit is a P3C it requires some modding to get it to P3K standard. One of the distinctive C model features is a multiple Sonarbouy chute arrangement under the rear fuselage. A collegue I work with is an ex 5 sqn avionics tech and he confirms that RNZAF K models had only a single chute. However exactly where this chute appears is a little vague, and I'm sure there are plenty of other bits and bobs hanging under a P3K that differ from the C (Including the thermal imager etc). The K also is missing the many weapons and sensor pylons under the C model wings - except for the searchlight. Does anyone have a nice clear photo of a P3 showing the under belly? mid 1980s - 1990s would be preferred, and ideally with the searchlight fitted. It looks like I'll have to scratchbuild the searchlight pod, but that doesnt look too tricky. As always, photos of the model will be posted as they come to hand. cheers.
