First time I have laid eyes on that particular photograph Dave, it looks a fairly robust sort of aircraft, the undercarriage itself looks serious. And Dunlop tyres, plus a Fairey Reed Propeller - who would have thought! The Avro 626 was one of the earliest aircraft seen in NZ with a tailwheel and hydraulic brakes (The RNZAF's Vildebeests arrived just a little bit earlier that year, and they also had tailwheels in concert with wheel brakes).

It would be really nice to find the original negatives of some of the newspaper photos that I have been finding, as the Papers Past scans do not do them justice, no matter how interesting they are.
