Back when I was a kid in the 1980's, when my Dad was the President of SAANZ, he got a couple of videos in from the USA from the Byron Originals company. This company - run by the late Byron Godferson - manufactured nice 1/5th scale kits of several WWII fighters for radio control modellers. But more interestingly every year at the Byron factory a huge airshow was held. As well as real planes flying in, the highlight was "Striking Back", which was a 1/5th scale recreation of a WWII battle. As well as their catalogue 1/5th kits such as P-51D, Zero's and P-47D, they also used to make specially built 1/5th models just for this event. These included B-25's and Dakotas that dropped 1/5th scale troops!! And one year even a B-29. So, in "Striking Back!" you'd see the Japanese attack an Allied installation and then the US aircraft strike back. In one they even had a huge 1/5th scale aircraft carrier that the Zero's actually took off from. Believe me, this is BIG! Sadly when Dad passed on the SAANZ club to someone else the videos went with the rest of the guff and Dad never made copies. Last night however I found some video online! For an awesome, rather authentic looking display that beats any Harvard attack at a NZ airshow for spectacle, check this out! www.veoh.com/videoDetails.html?v=e79569njk2jRXwI see that to download the clip you have to sign up, but you can view it without doing so. I'm signing up!

On a seperate site there is also an amazing photo of a P-51D vs P-38 incident, and a link beneath it can download a great piece of footage from a camera inside one of the B-25's! w1.rob.com/pix/crazy_rc/Ec87284
