I, Sean McFarlane, being of sound mind, here by declare that as of 5th of May 2007 I shall begin the construction of both my: 1/48 Frems MB-339 1/48 Aeroclub Strikemaster Both as RNZAF birds of course!.
I intend to not only start these two kits, BUT also to complete them in a timely manner.
This statement was required by those who know me far too well and doubt my ability to actually complete a kit in less than months (and one or two cases a decade). All they have is history on their side.
Thank you all for indulging me and my doubting friends in reading this statement.
Sean.

About bloody time, Sean. You really must be running out of cupboard space at home in which to store all your unmade kits for you to have to take such drastic action! ;D I look forward to seeing some regular progress updates on the forum. Maybe if you are a good wee lad and do have these kits completed by September, then you might get a nice book for your birthday?

Good luck Sean. And don't worry. I began building a 1/48th scale Macchi long before there was ever a kit of the aircraft. I began to convert an Esci MB326 to a 339, and made some very nice progress with the new nose. This started in early 1991 before we even took delivery of our aircraft. Now they've been out of service for six years and I still have not completed the damned model! One day...
Craig, i find it tidier to stack boxes in cupboards and cartons than finding shelf space for built kits. Most of those I have built and displayed have been broken by either me or the damn cats over the years. they're safer in their box unmade.

Started on it 10 or 12 years ago. Did all the small stuff then rescribed almost every part on it that would be seen and then realised I had nowhere to put the bugger when finished!! So back into the box it went. But one day... Yes one day...

Yes, I bought that C-130 kit in 1990. My mate also bought one the same time. We both lived in barracks at Whenuapai. He ripped into his and built it up. When I saw it, and saw how little room was left to move in the room I decided against building mine till i had more space. It's still unbuilt.

C'mon guys, whats the issue.... I am building a full size aircraft (6 years work so far mind you...) and I still get time to build my models! All you have to do is give up any form of social life, not get married and live like a hermit... piece of cake really (I am waiting on more shelf space before I do my 1/72 Boeing 727 - I'm looking forward to doing that one day...)

One can not underestimate the value of unmade kitsets. You only have to look at the ever increasing pile of kitsets building up at my house! I now have 4 large boxes .I am about to start on No. 5 !

Of course you realise that in making said declaration, events will conspire on the 5th to prevent commencement ;D.
I have been definitely remasking the camouflage tomorrow night on my 1/72 Macchi for about a week now. Of course that could be just procrastination, or that the gold T-bird I am also putting together has shown far less inclination to put up a fight, and is thus getting more attention.

I have both of those kits in my "To Do" pile but they're so far down the list, they'll probably be part of the stash that gets melted down to form my casket when I go...
