Does anyone here happen to have a copy of Scale Aircraft Modelling magazine from December 1999. It apparently had an article on modelling RNZAF Pacific aircraft from 1942-46 in it. I'd love to see a scan of the article if anyone has it please.

Actually I do!
I haven't got a scanner, But I'll have a crack at photocopying them tomorrow.
I also have the next issue with the article about modeling Kiwi Corsairs, which I can copy too.

Thanks Phil. Richard Moore (Kiwi) emailed and said he'd scan and email me the Pacific article. I will post it here when it arrives. I didn't know about the Corsair one, sounds interesting too.

Andy Scott the author of that article is a very keen modeller of Kiwi aircraft and co-ordinator of the New Zealand Special Interest Group [SIG] within the IPMS UK. He has written a number of articles for Scale Aircraft Modeller and more recently Model Aircraft Monthly. Scale Aircraft Modeller of July 1988 had a lead article about the RNZAF. I have attached a scan of the cover and would be prepared to put together a pdf of the whole article if any one is interested. SAM cover July 1988

Er.. I have actually been here for a whilel but never felt knowledgable enough to enter the threads. I'd like to apologise for all the mistakes in the articles, put it down to ignorance and an artist who though he knew best, hence the stuff up with NZ3072 and more.
I have been working for the past eight years on a more definitive article which has now turned into a book. I hope to get it published one day but there is aleays more to find out.
Take care
Andy

Silver fox is/ was a Humbrol paint colour - a bright silver useful for representing polished metal.... That must be what he is referring to! Great to have you on board mate.

Hey Andy
Nice to have you on board ol chap! I was taking a peek at my 1/48 Frems MB339 with all my aftermarket bits and was thinking about your one. I have a 'Military in Scale' article I kept and was wondering if it was your one.....
Cheers Anthony

Anthony,
Spencer Pollard did the article in MIS I did one for Model Aircraft Monthly about 18 months ago using the Aliatilane conversion. The conversion is pricey and you need to source decals but it is worth it on balance.
If I could figure out how to post pictures I'd do so
Take care
Andy

yep, know that feeling, having two young children and a job that takes me away a lot does that too you.
I'm currently arm wrestling a Classic Airframe Anson into NZ418, as it was part of a batch built at Yeadon where my father was a pattern maker. So far it has been 18 months in the making and I haven't even closed the fuselage.
Take care

Andy, we'd love to see progress photos of the Anson if possible please. Did NZ418 carry nose art? Many of them did, all Disney characters.
