With Bathurst coming up this weekend which make do you think will win? Holden has won the last seven races at Bathurst but Ford have won three championships in a row now so which one will it be? Also feel free to name the team and drivers your think will win. My head says Skaife/Tander driving for HRT I would like to see Lowndes and Whincup take it out. Holdens had its way for long enough but think Skaife and Tander will run away with it hence my vote for Holden. Let the Ford/Holden ribbing begin

HOLDEN no worries mate! ;D
FORD could do with it after world wide slump in sales and wanting to sell off Jaguar, Aston Martin etc.
Now number 3 in world sales after Toyota? Not to mention Lexus which leaves both for dead(not running at Bathurst) and slightly more expensive!
Go Holden!

Lowndes is hot at the moment and has a big team behind him. Whincup is less experienced so I hope he doen't throw it at the walls.
Nothing between the cars. Parity ensures that so we are told.
I have no bias one way or the other. Laws of probability make Ford the better bet, too.
I drove in the Bathurst 500/1000 in 1969,70 and 74. Finished each event.
Special place, Mt.Panorama. It's in the air.

Yeah, that special place where Bogans gather to drink, burn people's cars, fight with one another and hurl rocks onto the track at Fords. ;D

Fixed or repaired dayly, found on rubbish dump's Versus Hundred's oil leak's down every nut! GMH! ALL THE WAY HERE MATE! Well I've been a Holden Boy/Man , Since the day's as a toddler, looking through the hole's in the floor to the road , In me Dad's 2 tone grey/or Blue(he had 2 I think) Holden Special. Went like the Clapper's, but the rust was so bad even back then, you could have used it as a Fred Flintstone car!!!! I been a Bathurst NUT since about 72/73, I was a hyper little Bast*rd, and they stuck me in front of the old B/w box, to watch the race and maybe shut me up...... Crikey!! Twas better than me Smashup Derby set Never heard anymore from me that day, only to tell em what man got the race win, and what type Car. BIG FAN of all the Toranas, not so much the Condomodore's ;D I have tried to see atleast some, or all of the race ever since, the Ex wifey could never understand this, put it in the same basket as my obsession with aircraft Go GMH Holden's this weekend!!!! Get this one, For Brocky! Cheerio all, Tally Ho! Phil in Oz Baaa Baaa all

I tend to support "the General". However I have done a circuit of Bathurst when I was over in Aussie a couple of years ago - When not home to large V8s, the Mt Panorama circuit is a public road (there's all sorts of B&Bs and vineyards and stuff all around it) And I drove my rental car (Actually a Ford Falcon - but dont tell anyone) around the famous track - however the speed limit is 60km/h - strictly enforced! mind you, I dont have the skills of Brocky or Murph.....

I reckon those years back in the '80s when they raced the "Group A touring cars" with BMWs Sierras, Jags and the Big Nissans were way more exciting than now - you just know an Aussie manufacturer is going to win..... I cant be bothered watching the whole day waiting for Murph to either win or get in a scrap with someone...

Unfortunately I have to fly on Sunday so will miss the majority of the race. According to the V8 Supercars website there will be a parade of Brock's old co-drivers and team mates and a convoy of his previous race cars..

That's it! The Smash and Bash is over for another year. ;D Those Bugger's FORD won the Race! Been a while between drink's for em at Ford camp, well they deserved it anyway, GREAT RACE! What a teary old Bathurst it was, from start to finish, Perfect Pete was there in Spirit I guess . Lowndes did a great job of the race, he was treated real bad to start with by his Ex Holden fan's a few year's back. But WE all got over it eventually. Luved Graig's drive in the Xu-1 Torana at the start, great tribute to the great man Peter, the Car and the race. Anyway Peter trained Graig to start with, so being one of his Ex Co-driver's, So it still came out a special day for all. And I don't think FORD, or Lowndesey got booed or abused much this time, which make's a change! Gotta be that Brock element in there I think , smoothed it over some. Cheer's all, Tally Ho! Phil in Oz

I have a 2006 GT Ford Falcon as its a good car but always find myself in discussions about the Ford/Holden thing and although Im not worried either way I did think that Skaife would take out the race but in a good way I wont have to take any flack from Holden supporters for another 12 months

what a race - Skaife out before turn 2, Radicisch in Hospital, 10 Pace cars and a really tight Ford - Holden finish. Much as I would have liked Holden to win, the drama of it all made it actually interesting for a change! lived the Brock "Drivepast" and have to give credit to Craig Lowndes for driving so well under pressure at the end.

Terribly sad to hear that your young bloke, Porter, died as a result of his injuries sustained in the support category race. Something of an "own goal" in that it was his former car which hit him in the melee.
I only caught a glimpse of the event as I was otherwise engaged in the air-to-air shoot at Tyabb.
Is Dave alive and well?
Good to see Craig Lowndes win.
