AVID LIQUID SONY VEGAS Latest ADOBE PREMIER PRO (production suite) I am PC based......................I just gotta have that second mouse button.

I have used Premier a long time ago when I used a PC and the beauty with Adobe is you can download them and use them for a month to see how they go.
I have Final Cut Pro 2 on a G4 using OS 9 and found that to be an awesome program. Took a while to learn it but then the skies the limit. If it can't do it nothing can or it seemed that way. New more powerful versions out now and HD as well.
New G5 Macs are Intel powered now so Windows XP can be loaded on to them. They have had 2 button mouse for some time also. I use a Wacom tablet with a two button and wheel mouse on my 12" lap top. Don't have any experience on the others you mention.

The budget unfortunately doesn't stretch to new hardware or I would leap at a G-5 (I have had a play and me like). But don't feel too sorry as the PC I use for editing is pretty much a grunter. I am wavering towards the Avid Liquid 7 but I am a bit worried that a couple of people have told me it is VERY unintuitive, BUT once you have got your head around it, it's fantastic. .................and to say you have Avid has a certain amount of Kudos.

The latest Premier Pro (V2.something or other) will pretty much be like the version I am using now, and from what I have heard about Vegas it's pretty similar, but the Liquid 7 is apparently like nothing else out there user wise but does have big advantages. One nice thing about the Adobe Premiere Pro Production Suite is that you also get the latest versions of Photoshop, After Effects, their DVD authoring software, and their sound editing software and a nice interface that links them all. But the Liquid 7 comes with a nice i/o box for multi DV,S-Video and RCA analogue connections and if you spend a bit more you also get balanced XLR audio connections..................but, I can already do that (except balanced XLRs) on my DV VTR via firewire already.................but...............but....but..but
