Wasn't it great news this week that Charles Upham's two Victoria Crosses will remain in New Zealand. They were purchased from his children by the Imperial War Museum, London, who have pledged to place them on permanent display within the Queen Elizabeth II War Memorial Museum, Waiouru.
So, the children are happy, and the people of NZ will now have public access to them without a cent of NZ taxpayers money going into the deal. Fantastic. Well done IWM.
