heres a photo of the Team Kiwi Commordore that I took today. I met the team owner David John and he is doing a great job and is a man with a mission. Most of you will most likey know but they are trying to raise $400,000 for a new car as this is a write off. They need to come up with the money for the new Ford Falcon on December 1. They should be getting the FPR car driven this year by Jason Bright. They have raised $225,000 and the car is on a nationwode tour that hit the South Island today, if you want more info as to where to see it and how you can donate to the cause please check the Team Kiwi website. I made a decent donation and bought some merchandise as what they are doing is great and I for one want to see them in the V8 series again next year.

Yip, It was at Barthurst, Paul Radisich had to aviod another car at 220kmh and couldnt stop before a pretty nasty wall. The car is a write off unfortunately. Paul is recovering from a broken sternum and ankle, he was very lucky. If they cant raise the money they wont be back in the V8s and we are lucky to have a NZ team in that competition

ya can tell me if I am wrong here, but to fix the car was going to cost a few hundred thousand dollars, and people would say why, when they are going to Ford (fixed or repaired daily) next season . But I heard that if they miss a round, they are fined something like $125k and miss more than 2 rounds or was it 4 that they lose their rights to race. have they had dispensation to miss a round or 2 without fines.
So they are digging deep to a, pay for repairs to the holden and b, buy a new ford. bloody expensive this game...
a pity helen and cullen are not petrol heads like lange was, as they could have asked for some money when auckland loses the world cup final to chch and only a small bit of the 1 billion that cullen was going to throw at a new stadium is needed.

Holdens and Fords are so deathly dull. I support our A1 GP team. Now that's real racing. And soon my next favouite motorsport will be Red Bull Air Racing, supporting Richard Hood.

Yip I am a big fan of the Red Bull air races, The thing that really struck me was the attitude of the team, they are getting stuck in with good kiwi determination and hard work and it was good to be reminded that there are people out there trying really hard to realise there vision.
Lots of people just like them in aviation but I dont have the room to mention them all

Very true Gavin. It is nice to know the Kiwis are being represented in the Aussie competition. I just find it harder to get excited over Commodores and Falcons than some people. I guess because they're so commonplace compared to an F1 or A1 GP car.
Good luck to them though.
