Six CAC CA-28 Ceres dung-droppers came to NZ, where are they now? -ZK-BPU is on display at MOTAT (sans wings) -ZK-BSQ is rotting with Ken Jacobs (along with his TBF & Vampire) in Riverhead. So where are the other four, one was apparantly still active in 1981 when MOTAT already had theirs...........................over to you.

The story I had heard about the Motat Ceres goes back to the "Bad old days" of the late 1980s. BPU had been restored by James aviation and presented, along with a spare set of wing outer panels. Due to lack of space, it spent quite some time stored in one of the sheds at Meola Rd, and even some time outside. At some point someone got sick of the extra wings taking up storage space, and gave the instuction for one set to be scrapped (!). I'm not sure how accurate the story is (But it comes from a usually reliable source) but I heard that they did scrap 2 wings - unfortunately both the same side! duh... that may explain why wings arent fitted to the Motat machine at the moment, and where at least one extra set of wings got to.
