I once found John Cleese's official website and at the time signed up to his mailiong list, as he often sends emails out (or his staff, the Lemurs, do) to let fans know what he's doing at the moment.
Today's one came with a report of his recent NZ tour where he did 22 shows. The thing is, the email (which is always written in a bit of a silly style so this is hard to know whether its true or not) says this:
"Well, we Lemurs are pleased to announce that we have reached the end of the New Zealand tour "John Cleese, His Life, Times and Current Medical Problems". We watched from the cheap seats as the Boss did 22 shows, and he nearly got us all killed TWICE in small plane crashes on the Invercargill (first) and New Plymouth (the last) stops. Thanks heavens for the overhead bins - they do make a great hiding place. And we thought it was just Rock Stars and small planes that didn't go together!"
Did anyone hear about these two crashes? Are they true? Was JC involved?
