Very interesting read! - my guess is between 1975 and 1977 based on A19-031 entering service in April 1975, and reference to positive canopy jettison - this was tested on the ground by jettisoning the canopy in the slipstream of an RNZAF Bristol freighter (I know several witnesses to this) and of course the RNZAF disposed of the B170s in 1977. There is also no reference to RNZAF use, which started in 1976 so that further narrows it down. DGY is also painted as though it was angling for the RNZAF contract at the time. I note that DGY is equipped with tip tanks in several photos - these were aparently only flown for a very short time as they effected spin recovery to the point that the anti spin chute had to be popped on one occaision. The tanks did hang around in the main PAC Hangar until very recently - I saw them when I was working for Aeromotive. The reference to wing hardpoints is very interesting - despite the brochure I dont believe that any production CT4 has ever been fitted with them - though I could be wrong. DGY also still has an Airtourer style spinner, which is slightly pointier than production machines. Incidentally the top picture shows River Rd, Hamilton in the background - before the infill housing that started off in the 1980s - so thats a further clue as to the date - cant quite make out the vehicles on the road to use that as clue though!

An interesting thing is that the test pilots were not the ones to test the canopy jettison. It was Pat Monk, the designer himself who did the testing. I recall him mentioning this several times, though he said the plane was tethered behind a Hercules from memory.

If it was a B170 it would be behind TWO Hercules! (of the Bristol variety.....)

Interesting leaflet. ZK-DZT was registered to NZAI on 10th March 1975, and left NZ for Oz on 6th April1975, so that photo would have been taken within that timespan.

Mind you I think that photo was used for several years later by NZAI. I remember Pat Monk had that photo framed in his dining room too, so it must have been quite a favourite of his.
