I heard on the National Radio news this afternoon that the sealed runway at Hood Aerodrome, Masterton, has suffered serious damage from heavy rain today washing away the tarmac!
The grass strip is still in service (possibly for flying boats by the sounds of things)
Ive never heard of rain washing out a sealed runway before, I mean the foundations must be seriously deeper than a road. Amazing.
It will take around a week to fix, once the rain stops.
