Hi guys, just thought I would let everyone know.
NAC Dominie ZK-AKY had been sold to an overseas buyer but the sale feel through at the 11th hour due to intervention by the Government / The Ministry for Culture and Heritage enforcing the antiquities act and baring the sale.
This allowed the Croydon Aviation Heritage Trust to pursue funding for purchase and the sale to the CAHT has now been completed.
She is now back home at Mandeville, I flew here just once the afternoon before her insurance ran out. She will be once again online and operated by the Croydon Aircraft Company for scenic flights as we move further into our tourist season and we look forward to having her flying for many many many years to come.

Nice one Neddie. My first every aeroplane flight was in this aircraft (or AKU) as these two Dominie used to operate the NAC flights on the Auckland - Whangarei sector before Whangarei airfield was extended and sealed. They were the last two Dominie in NAC service. It was at an airshow at Whangarei doing scenics. Apparently I took one look out of the window, dived under the seat and screamed until the aircraft finally landed. Been hooked ever since.

This is excellent news for NZ aviation history. Great to hear that she'll remain flying too.
Peter, I think most people can relate to your experience of being introduced to the joys of flying: terrifying at first, but it does kind of grow on you later! ;D

Great Job, very well done indeed. Great to see the aircraft staying where it belongs
