What sort of aircraft do Air National operate? The Prince and his wife sound like a 'nice' couple too! Dutch royals' aircraft forced to land01 November 2006 The heir to the Dutch throne and his pregnant wife were forced to make an emergency landing after passengers smelt smoke on board a chartered plane soon after takeoff today. Prince Willem-Alexander of Orange and his wife Princess Maxima were in an Air National plane flying out of Nelson when smoke was smelt, forcing the aircraft to circle the airport and land. Nelson Airport general manager Kaye McNabb said the airport's rescue fire crews were put on standby about 4.30pm. The plane landed without incident, she said. The couple were transfered to another plane and had flown out of Nelson, she said. The emergency landing comes after well-wishers in Queenstown were shocked by an apparent snub as the prince and his wife started an official visit to New Zealand yesterday. As they left a hotel after ending a three-day private holiday in Queenstown before starting their official programme, a radio reporter asked them how they enjoyed their stay in New Zealand. "It's none of your business – it's private," the prince replied, drawing gasps from onlookers. "Don't come back," shouted one man as the royal pair were driven away. The royal couple are visiting New Zealand from October 31 to November 4. They are taking in Wellington, Nelson, Christchurch and Auckland during their stay

They used to have two DHC-8, but they got rid of them last year. One was sold into Ethiopia, the other went to Vincent Aviation and is now ZK-VAC. The Gulfstream is actually Peter Jackson's ZK-KFB.
