A pilot and passenger have escaped unharmed after their two-seater aircraft crashed near Hastings this morning.
Police and emergency staff are rushing to the scene, but are not expected to reach the site for another 90 minutes.
The pilot called 111 shortly before 11:00am to tell them about the crash, at a farm on the Napier-Taihape road.
