We have a new member on the forum, Mary Garden.
Mary is the daughter of the well known pioneer pilot Oscar Garden.
She is compiling a book on her father's life, and is seeking any information taht might be useful to her.
In particular she's keen to discover more about his flying from 1934-1940 when he was employed by Imperial Airways.
Can you help please?
I'm sure you'll agree a book on his life will be most welcome by we Kiwi aviation enthusiasts.

Wasn't there an article on Oscar Garden in a reasonably recent 'Pacific Wings'? As I recollect from that, he suddenly resigned from the aviation world and became somewhat of a recluse. Added:A further check at the Dictionary of NZ website entry www.dnzb.govt.nz/dnzb/default.asp?Find_Quick.asp?PersonEssay=5G4gives a date of the Wings article as August 1982 (so much for recent!) and its author as John King. Maybe worthwhile contacting John King in Auckland to see what other info he has.

Thanks Bruce.
Fancy a professional aviation photographer and author not having a website in this day and age.

Thanks for all this; I'll contact John King. As soon as I can, I'll set up a website (with lots of photos) just for Oscar Garden instead of having my articles on him mixed up with all my other writing and ramblings on my own website! Mary Not specifically a website, but I can give you his e-mail address, I'll send it to you.
