Man injured in chopper crash By ANDREW McALLEY - Waikato Times | Friday, 16 March 2007 A man was taken to Waikato Hospital by ambulance with minor injuries after a helicopter crash at a Te Kowhai air strip yesterday. Two people were aboard the Robinson R22 helicopter when it hit the ground hard at the airstrip on Limmer Rd, northwest of Hamilton, about 1.05pm. St John Ambulance area manager Mike Pudney said the other person was shaken up. The airstrip is on the property of Max Clear, whose company Micro Aviation manufactures and exports microlight aircraft. A Micro Aviation spokeswoman said the helicopter had more of a hard landing than a crash. Firefighters from Hamilton, Pukete and Ngaruawahia attended the crash but Deputy Chief Fire Officer Martin Berryman said it was a precaution. They dealt with a small fuel spill and supported police and ambulance staff until crash investigators arrived Sourced from www.stuff.co.nz/stuff/waikatotimes/3995256a6579.html where there's a photo of the Robinson on its side
