Interestingly this listing mentions Hugh and Adrian Kingsford and their experiments from the 1980's. My father was good friends with Adrian, they used to converse on the subject of these planes regularly as Dad was a modeller too and a whizz in engineering, and Adrian sent Dad several awesome home videos of experiments he and Hugh did over the years. We still have those videos.
One in particular was great, they took off from the road to fly over Rabbit Island (between Nelson and their home at Mapua). Just as it lifted off a car came around the corner an just missed it. Close call!
I know Adrian did the Wild South filming and then went overseas to do film work. Does anyone know if he's still doing his filming from a plane? Where is he now? Anyone know?
