I think that is a bit of a harsh judgement. Yeah, sure they are bad sometimes, but they're not that bad!
And really the gap between QANTAS and Singapore isn't massive at 15%. The way the media have trumpeted it, you think QANTAS was only getting 5% satisfaction rating!

I'd have to agree with the findings in that report. The few times that I have flown with Qantas they have been pretty bad. Admitedly not quite as bad as British Airways (it would take a real sustained effort to be as bad as British Airways) but they get pretty close. Air New Zealand I would put at mid-pack (why do their checkin staff dislike their customers so much?) and Emirates would be near the top if only their in-flight entertainment actually worked. I have flown once with Virgin Blue (Melbourne - Hobart) and they seemed to have their act together. Given a free choice of the airlines I've actually flown with, and it'd be a tossup between Singapore (if only they would improve their food) and Thai.
