I had my first ever flight in a Tiger Moth today, with DragonFlyDH90 at the wheel - what a huge buzz! The 20 minutes just flew by (excuse the pun...) and I can fully recommend it if you're ever down at Mandeville. Thanks again Ryan!! Also had a look around the workshop - slightly different to what I'm used to working on, but the machines are great.

Nice Tibor. It's a wonderful experience, isn't it? Real flying!
I have photos from my flight somewhere packed away. I was a little terrified of dropping the camera somewhere over Wigram on my trip, but luckily that didn't happen.

Some years ago, when at OH, I had a mate, Nobby Clarke, who flew with the then Middle Districts Aero Club at Milson, now Palmerston North Airport. We sahred the cost of a few 172 flights, but he could also fly the resident Tiger, and I had few flights in it with him. We used to climb to a suitable height and throw out a toilet roll then turn to chop it with the prop as it unravelled. I found the Tiger flights something you never, ever forget, especially the first time you end up inverted! I shouted Mumbles a flight in one at Paraparam for his 21st birthday, and he looked a bit green when he arrived back, but otherwise OK! Poor Nobby subsequently died in a crash at Oshkosh.
I also flew in that Stearman that briefly operated from Wigram, and it had a very sold feel about it.

Welcome to the Moth fliers population. If ever you get over to the UK....there's more ...although this was back in 2001 ..this was a little closer to home, back in 2004 nearing the end of another great flight back to North Shore
