Aircraft makes Blenheim emergency landing Friday, 20 July 2007
An aircraft sparked an emergency alert at Woodbourne Airport near Blenheim today, but landed safely.
It is understood the Beech 1900 aircraft reported a problem with its landing gear, but was able to land shortly after 4pm.
Emergency services were stood down.
Woodbourne was the site of a spectacular crash landing on June 18 when the same type of plane had to land without wheels after its undercarriage failed.
The pilot of the Air New Zealand aircraft was praised for his efforts. None of the 17 people aboard were injured.
There have been six cases of undercarriage problems with the Beech aircraft reported to the Civil Aviation Authority.
