Just a quick question on behalf of my father.
He is seeking information on his late uncle, James Taylor, who vanished on a flight from Whenuapai to Hamilton in the 1950s. I have no information on the aircraft type or the location of the crash. From what I've been told the aircraft, or wreckage, was never found.
Sorry there's not much to go on but maybe somebody can point him/me in the right direction.
Cheers, Stu.

Possibly referring to Piper Comanche ZK-BOO of the Canterbury Aero Club which was lost without trace on a flight Auckland - Whangarei 17th October 1958?
I have no record of any civilian losses Auckland - Hamilton that were not tracked down.

Hi Stu. All the details about the disappearance of James Taylor are in my book "Missing! Aircraft Missing in New Zealand 1928-2000". The aircraft was a Tiger Moth ZK-AIS. It is believed the aircraft may have crashed into the sea. You can purchase the book through www.warbirdsite.com or email me at Chris.Rudge@xtra.co.nz Cheers, Chris
