AMY is still parked next to Vincent Aviation with it's engine off if anyone is interested, you can see it from the side road.

Had a note from a friend who is involved with AMY:
"It too recently had a spot of bother when it had a bird strike near Rangiora while on a positioning flight to Masterton for a three day filming contract. Instead, it sits at Vincent Aviation awaiting a new engine which Peter Vincent tells me will be here in a few days. It is now also due for its 6 yearly inspection and will ready for Warbirds over Wanaka."

A birdie had a DC-3 strike...yep- AMY is in Intensive care and getting a new engine... ZK-DAK looks forward to meeting up with ZK-AMY again ready for the 2008 air show season - and we all send our best regards from the owners and crew of DAK to the same for AMY. Get well soon!

Hi there everyone, I noticed today that AMY was flying again over CHC and then I had a look at her as she was being put away in the Hangar. She looks great and its good to see her in her natural habitat again . Does anyone know when she got back into the air? Cheers Barry

Is that ZK-AMY in the photo in the latest RNZAF Air Force News magazine, showing the DC-3 at Wigram dressed up in NAC colours for a film set in the 1960's? It looked superb in the temporary markings. When was the filming done? Before or after the engine problems?

Would have been done before the engine troubles if it were AMY. I saw that photo in the latest Air Force News too, and it did look very smart. As for when it got back into the air, it was there last Sunday (trying hard to remember the week just gone as I've been a night owl with work this week), and wasn't there end of Wednesday. So sometime in between that. There must be a note on one of those NZ air traffic movements blogs somewhere.
