The other day I ended up travelling through Hawkes Bay and decided to take a break , as I was close to Bridge Pa I chose to find it and stretch my legs with a strole around what appeared to be a pretty active general aviation field . It was intersting to see a couple of Fletchers , EGT and CMZ , being worked on , as well as other aircraft too . The guys at Aerial Mapping opened the door for me to get a better look at their smart Aero Commander CDK . There were many other types around including an S A Bulldog XX657 and Auster BAO or was that Q . Does anyone the story of the rather sad looking Beech? CIA ? I really enjoyed the break on a hot day , took me back to my childhood hanging around an airfield and made the long drive home a little easier .

Ghosts of many Temple Martin Tigers there! The Beech Queen Air has been derelict for many years. Officially cancelled 10/10/2006, but non-flying for many years prior to that. There is a thread here on it a year ago: rnzaf.proboards43.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=civil&thread=1161647141&page=1The Aiglet is ZK-BAQ, Charlie Janes old mount, now owned by G K Eason, Taradale, Napier. The Bulldog is ZK-WUF, which has moved there from Whenuapai (I tried to buy a share in that, but no-one else was interested in forming a syndicate when Colin Howcroft was selling it).

I did not understand the Temple Martin Tigers bit but the last time I visit Bridge Pa there was at least one silver and red Tiger Moth which appeared to be airworthy and a guy was restoring three more . However that was years ago when Aerial Mapping still had their Monospar .
