I just came across these news items on YouTube that reported on the sad death of helicopter pilot and legend Peter Button in 1987.
It's hard to believe that was more than 20 years ago, I was just 16 when it happened but I recall hew as something of a household name for his flying skills.
I wondered, has any permanent memorial ever been established to remember him and his work? A plaque or something in Wellington?
Also, did he ever fly displays at airshows?

Peter Button's photo portrait hangs inside the Life Flight building as a reminder of the work he did to create the ambulance service, as well as mention and photos of him at work on a wall mural featuring a timeline.

Thanks Joe. It's good to know he hasn't been forgotten.
