I have changed it Simon, but which airport is this at? I already had the NZ Aerobatic Championships on the calendar as being at Waipukurau. Is that the same airport as Rotorua? I'm not sure.

ah no - Waipukurau is in Southern Hawkes Bay, Rotorua is, well Rotorua... For Simon and co, theres a "Daylight Savings" fly in at Tokoroa,on the 18th so if you're passing somewhere near there on your way down, feel free to buzz us!

So there's two seperate events on the same weekend then? I'll add Rotorua to the calendar for those days then.

Has anyone the exact details/timing of the event at Rotorua? There would seem to be no airfield closure listed in the current AIP Supplements (as there usually is for an air display rather than a fly-in). I would be interested in flying down from Wpai, but I need more info first.

Bruce do you have more details of Tokoroa, on the 18th, Harvard’s may stop in as well if I can give them more details.
Flyernzl: Rotorua is a Fly-in however the Harvard formation team will be doing a practice over the field.

Hi Simon, sounds cool if the Harvards are passing through Tokoroa as well. The fly in is a sort of "celebration of flying" thing with models and all sorts of sport Aircraft Harvards and a thunder Mustang would certainly attract some public interest!. The main organiser for the fly in is Murray Belfield (Trans Tasman jodel pilot) ph 0-7-886 7995. Most visiting aircraft will be arriving mid morning. There will be a BBQ on the field if you're going to be landing. Tokoroa has an excellent sealed strip which should be adequate for higher performance machines - some of the local eccentric engineers use it to test thier go carts powered by valveless pulsejets!

It is intended that the Harvard formation team and Thunder Mustang will do a fly past at Tokoroa around 10.15 hrs on our way to Rotorua.
