Apparently the Red Checkers display team did their routine over New Brighton beach, Christchurch, this evening at 6.00pm, according to the NZF site.

Did anyone who's in Chch go along? Alex perhaps?

If so, any photos?

They are down there for the airshow at Wigram tomorrow.

That would explain the noise as I was trying to have a quite beer in town last night.
