Nice to see a different perspective on the P-40E.
That's an incredible feat of engineering when you consider it's almost scratchbuilt on a yiny budget and mostly by one volunteer with a small team backing him. A wonderful job.

Excellent stuff. That photo inside the P-40 just shows what a stunning piece of work it is.
Back in 2004 when I first saw the Vildebeest project I assumed that a lot of the airframe was brand new, as it's so shiny and new looking. I know most of the P-40 is new material, hand crafted. So i assumed the same for the Vilde. But this time down there I had a chat with the nice old chap working on it, and he said it's mostly the original material that's been restored. He pointed out a few pieces in the fuselage where it had had to be made new, but he assured me the rest is genuine. Amazing. I am really looking forward to seeing this progress. The Pegasus they have for it looks beautiful. It'll be nice someday to see it rolled out, complete, into the sun. mmmmm
