Meant to say that if anyone wants photos at a larger size for desktop wallpaper, please ask and I will post them.

Alex, thanks! They are wonderful shots, just fantastic.
The Orion shots especially are beautiful. It's interesting to note they're high gloss on the bottom and matt on the top.
NZ1015 looks a little odd - I think it's been repainted and the style of the codes have changed since I last saw this beautiful Harvard. Did they take the Tiger Moth down too?
I would have thought there'd also be several Iroquois there as seven or eight of them have been on exercise at Fiordaland this week.

With the P-3, I reckon that may just be a trick of the light Dave
But great shots I agree, love the harvard ones

Those are the photos we all want to take........bugger!
That Harvard may well fly for ever! When they went out of service in 1976, mostly into private hands, I belive 1015 was slipped quietly through Woodbourne and virtually zero-houred with just about everthing on hand!

I did cheat a bit, I had a polarizing filter on to try it before Wanaka. It's given a real edge to the photos that I quite like.

The shot with the Checkers on the taxiway by the windsock....is the pilot doing what I think he is doing......time for a nervous one.

More wonderful stuff. Thanks Alex.
It looks like the weather down there is as bad as hear, where it is also, cold, wet and windy.
I love that shot of the Bleriot replica too. Have you any more from inside the museum please?

Just looking at the third photo - do you know who is operating the anonymous Convair 580 in the background? it doesnt look like one of Air Frieght NZ's or Air Chathams. Is it a regular user of Wigram perhaps?

Excellent stuff Craig. They make Wigram look just as it was in its operational days.

Nice stuff.
I have to admit when the RNZAF disposed of the lovely Andovers and replaced them with much less practical Beech Super King Airs (and leased ones at that) I was utterly unimpressed. But nowadays they really are beginning to grow on me. They're nice little aircraft and I like that new colour scheme especially. They're almost as cool as the old Golden Eagles.

Thanks Dave. I was very, very surprised by how well some of my photos turned out; not only because of the slightly crappy weather, but because I am not too confident with my camera. Slowly but surely though I think I am improving. Alex has been a great adviser. You're right about it looking like Wigram was back in in the good old days again. I thought the shot of the Harvard and the Airtrainer was good because it showed two of the generations of trainers used by the RNZAF - sort of father and son, if you like.

Actually more like grandad and grandson, as the E model Airtrainer is second generation. Remember NZ1015 served in the war too... amazing when you think about it.
