Great! - looks to be better weather than in my only visit there. Is the M1C original or a replica?

FlyerNZL, the Bristol M1C is a replica which was built for the Collection by the Northern Aeroplane Workshop, who also built the Collection's Sopwith Triplane Replica. NAW's current project is a Sopwith Camel, which should look wonderful at Old Warden when it's ready to fly in a couple of years' time.

Great photos Rob. That Bristol M.1 is a neat machine, but to me it has a bity of the Rupert Bear-aeroplane look about it. I like it though. Were they actually used in combat? I've not come across one before in books.

Wondered - as I have seen the original one at Minlaton, South Australia peterlewisdesign.tripod.com/australia/classicaircraftminlaton.htmI understand that the M1C was a victim of the RFC bias against monoplanes (based on suspicion of their structural integrity). They were used in combat, but only in small numbers in secondary areas like the Middle East.
