At last after many months of part-time work when we could, my mate Mike Cater and I are now about a day away from completing the first ever aviation video we've made.
It is the official DVD of SportAvex 2006 held at Tauranga earlier this year.
All we have to do is complete the title captions and then hand it over to SAA for distribution.
However, despite having a fairly detailed list of pilots and aircraft that participated, we're short of a few details. I'd like to include them so the pilots get a credit - it's only courtesy.
We no longer have time to go back through the footage we haven't used, trying to see if we caught the commentator mentioning these details. We have to get the film finished tomorrow to hand over.
So, were you at the show, and did you know the following?
The Yak 52 team: Who were the pilots? I know one was Brett Emeny, but who were the other three that took part?
The Harvard team: Who were the four pilots in the Harvards? I recall one was a lady.
Who flew the glider and the Pawnee tow plane from Tauranga Glider Club?
Who flew the Dominie ZK-AKU?
Who was the Catalina pilot and crew on the day?
Also, who were the RNZAF crews for the C-130, the Iroquois and the Kiwi Red team? And for my own records, did any spotters get the serial number of the Iroquois?
Any details would be welcome by tomorrow (Friday) afternoon - sorry it's short notice. Thanks.
A post will follow as to where you can puchase the DVD

This thread got me browsing through the photos I took on the day and I came across this one ..... Maybe it's the stock-standard Fuji Finepix F810 I was using or atmospherics on the day (bearing in mind the many "smoke rings" generated during aerobatic displays) but the swirly bits on the props really intrigued me. Couldn't find it on any other photos.

Thanks for the Iroquois number Colin.
I did try to phone John Street but couldn't track him down - one lady I rang from the phonebook listed J Street, and she said she always gets wrong number calls for him but as far as she knew he didn't have a phone. So in the end we decided to list the Yak team simply as that, the team and added Lead by Brett Emeny (which i'm told and am sure was correct).
The film is down onto master disc now so cannot be altered.
Stu I've seen photos of Hercs before making such vortices, it's something to do with atmospherics I think.
