After being disrupted by the weather for the last few years, about 40 aircraft showed up for this years event. More of a fly it in, park it, and wander around event rather than an air display, a variety of aircraft from Ardmore, Whenuapai, Whangarei and other Northland fields arrived. Met Mark Diaz, the newly-appointed SOCATA rep for Australia & NZ, who was delighted that I arrived with JIE, the only SOCATA aircraft he has actually seen so far in NZ. As Springhill is the Izard base for their Robin agency, there were several Robins lined up including two of the newer all-metal Robin 3000 version Some Tecams were on show, both in high wing and low wing models Some seldom seen homebuilt/kitset aircraft were there, including this RV6 I had not seen an Impulse 100 before, a really smooth ship However, the prize for NZ's biggest and best private aircraft setup must go to Richard Izard's Cessna Caravan complete with electric pusher trolley and the new Audi diesel for when you get back home

Great photos Peter, and a nice report.
Where exactly in Springhill?

Springhill is on the banks of the Hatea river a couple of km south of Wellsford - a really nice place.

Thanks Bruce. It certainly looks like a nice airstrip from Peter's photos.
