rumour has it you can buy a share in the pristine Devon based at Ardmore. You do not have to even be a pilot. Chance of a lifetime to own a part of NZ aviation history. Probably the smartest ten seater in the country. I gather the syndicate rate is around $450 per hour at 140kts which makes for a great cross country machine. I know they took it to Auz last year. Tempting eh!

I have seen ZK-DHW on trade me that has shares available so it could be that aeroplane. Would be cool like you say for cross countrys, throw a few mates in the back and off you go in a classic, would be a lot of fun

If its not the devon based at North Shore airfield ,ZK-DHW, then its most probably the NZ Warbirds one ZK-KTT. The Devon owned by Barry Keay.It was in the Warbirds hangar today at Ardmore. I have not heard of it being syndicated but it could be happening. A very nice Plane to fly .

Latest is $10000.00 for a tenth share of NZ aviation history. Or as per normal we do nothing and we lose it off shore for ever. About time we kept our history in NZ!! Perhaps together we: “NZ Aviation Forum” could buy a tenth share between us???

The aircraft is definitely ZK-KTT, a lovely machine which as Simon says, would be a shame to lose overseas. It's just had major inspections done on it and it looks great. And yep, you dont even have to be a pilot to own a share!

I like the Devons, when I was doing my aircraft engineering training at Gulf Aeronautics (in the hangar that KTT lives in now) KTT was one of 3 Devons I used to work on (the others being UDO and RNG) and other than their annoying habit of leaving oil slicks everywhere they paused, and temperamental pneumatic bladder brakes, I thought the Devons were awesome machines. certainly they are comfortable, well thought out machines, with plenty of decent sized access panels, great visibility and lots of character. If I wasnt chronically over budget on my homebuilt I'd be tempted to buy a share.
