I went down to Waitomo this afternoon with my sister and Mum. On the way I noticeda truck with two NZ Army APC's on the back heading north. I guess they're sadly on their way to the scrapper's melting pot, thanks to the US State Dept meddling.
Does anyone know where they're being cut up and scrapped? I wonder if there's any chance a few will slip out the back door and be saved.
It still baffles me. They could be very useful vehicles to farmers and contractors, and also saved by collectors. And the deal that was almost done would have seen collectors paid twice as much as the government now got from the scrappers. Pointless.
