18 troops = 1 x NH-90, bet she won't send them when we get them, then agan she won't be in power then.
If she loses, will she give up politics like Jenny

Interesting comment Beags about not deploying NH- 90's . I totally admit to not really following the " chopper " replacement policies , but surely they would pretty much go wherever significant numbers of our troops went ?

Radio NZ's website this morning said "18 general service troops" were being sent.
Sorry to ask, but what are general service troops? "Fighting" infantry soldiers? Or "support" staff? Or is it code for "no not the SAS but maybe they really are"!

No mention anywhere of sending any armoured vehicles? That is what the guys there really need.

question: do commercial Flights usually use mil oversea callsigns when providing Charter flights for the NZDF? i.e Kiwi782 Air NZ Boeing 777-200 ZK-OKC visited Ohakea today, arriving from Auckland as ANZ6023 and then departing for Perth and beyond as "Kiwi 782" carrying NZ military personnel for services in Afghanistan. mrcaviation.blogspot.com/

Was it hijacked by 40 Sqn? With several Hercs and the Boeings having extended overseas holidays they can't have may of their own aircraft left to fly.

I've never heard the term before however have the GSH,s been counted recently, perhaps 18 are missing
