Greetings all,
I am in the process of designing a TA-4K simulator cockpit, and I am on the scrounge...
Does anyone have any drawings of the TA-4, specifically the cockpit section?
I have built an A-4 sim once before, but the only dimensions I had were those of the shell which was built by someone else. This time I intend doing it properly and building something accurately dimensioned, and building it "properly"
Alternately, if anyone has a contact at Woodbourne, who has access to the TA-4's and would be willing to take some dimensions for me....
It is a big ask I know, but I'd be gratefull for any help.

I spent a couple of hours being shown around the Woodburne training fleet at the weekend, and got the impression that access to the A-4's may be somewhat limited.

Yeah so I understand. Ahh well. I have had an email from a guy in the states who has a TA-4J cockpit section. Hopefully I can get the basic dimensions from that. Then, with all the photos I have taken so far, plus loads of diagrams (from the Skyhawk AVINTRO) I should be able to get it at least close SeanG

Hi Sean, long time no hear. Check your site sometimes for updates to the A4 sim but see you have moved. I'll check my collection of books and see if anything helpful turns up. Les.

Gidday! Since my last post I have managed to get a lot of the sketches and photos I have pulled together into some resonable looking drawings of the main front panel by a friendly AutoCad guru, so the project is moving along nicely again. My webpage hasn't been updated for ages, I moved to Christchurch and the "old" A-4 project didn't make the trip On the up side, I now build simulators for a living so the new project (TA-4K) will be a whole generation better than the old one As for infor that I am after, If I can get a few accurate dimensions I can derive the rest from good quality photos like: www.dodmedia.osd.mil/Assets/1984/Navy/DN-SN-84-00441.JPEGCritical stuff for me is to get the forward windscreen dimensions right, then I can work everything back from there. Its all fun and games in this hobby ;-) Cheers Sean
