I was watching BBC new's VERY early one morning, and came across this. with a little play about I got it working, its nothing special compared to proper flight sims but still fun none the less. www.techcrunch.com/2007/08/31/google-earths-easter-egg-a-flight-simulator/(I loaded the lastest version on google earth on my pc, and I think you may have to agree to "send usage data" etc to get acess to this feature.)

Aru, Many thanks for the tip about the Google Earth FlightSim. This is what the scenery should look like in Flight Simulator X at least for sure. The controls are 'whack' but I guess it would be similar to flying a UFO over the Earth - really scary. ;D An initial test flight overhead NAS Nowra video clip 6Mb .WMV is online at: files.filefront.com/NowraGoogleEarthFlightSimDwmv/;9324588;/fileinfo.htmlJervis Bay and NAS Nowra are in view in this clip. It was a wild first test ride. Probably it would be better to have the area of the flight already cached by Google Earth before flying over it (only my initial guess on first use of this function).

I found it as well, and it was interesting I must say. I found that if you clicked the mouse a cross would appear and you could fly with the mouse, I lost contact with google after a while though It said that I had become disconnected from the server, and to try again later umm.
